I didn’t make it back when I thought I would. Life is pretty crazy.

I’m taking 15 hours at the university this semester and I was just told that I’m officially a senior. Yahoo! It only took 18 years. Heh. One of the nice things about that is that I have some instructors who are approaching me regarding graduate school (which I’m interested in). I was looking at going into Linguistics (applied linguistics, actually) but my school doesn’t have a master’s program in that. They do have a PhD program in it but I have to get my Master’s first, of course. So, one instructor asked me to look into the Rhetoric and Composition Master’s program. He said that they are actively recruiting people who they think have potential in that field and he wanted me to know that they were interested in me. It is one of the top ranked programs in the nation. They have 100% placement into doctorate programs and jobs.

Ok…if that doesn’t make me feel good, I don’t know what does. Someone actually thinks that I have potential in a field that I would love? Wow. I’ve been on cloud nine ever since our discussion.

My nephew is doing so well. I actually got to babysit him on Monday. My brother told me that I was the first one to be left alone with him (and my niece) since his open-heart surgery. I was honored by that. He’s a little cutie. But man, oh man…when he’s mad, he lets you know! He’s the funniest kid. I had so much fun with him. My niece is an awesome big sister. She just adores her brother.

Ok…well, I need to get back to work. I’ll catch up with you all soon!
