I have to admit, I haven’t seen a whole lot of Vancouver while I’ve been here. I’ve been sleeping a lot and we seem to only go out at night so the only thing I see is city lights. That’s beautiful and I’m not complaining. I will try to get out a bit more before I leave.

I’m having a great time with my friend, though. I’m much more comfortable with him than I would have thought given some of our past.

We haven’t always gotten along well. We both have very strong personalities and are very particular about what we like and what we don’t. I think, too, that we’re both very sensitive in some interesting ways and we react interestingly to what we say to one another.

That being said, I totally adore him. There are things he does that touch me in such a deep way.

This may sound silly but…

The other night, we came in from being out grocery shopping. We had walked through the rain and even in my raincoat, I had gotten pretty wet.

I was sitting at the desk shivering. Instead of telling me to get up and put on some clothes or tossing a sweater to me or something, he got up, got one of his sweaters, and put in to me, sliding it over my head and down. Then he held me close and hugged me until I got warm.

I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone pay me that kind of attention. It was sweet and gentle and kind. I almost cried because of it.

It’s nice to be treated like that.
