1.) If you were in a band (you know, a successful one…), and you HAD to remake an old song, what band/song would you choose and why?

  • I’d be in the Indigo Girls and I’d want to sing “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” There is something about that song that just really touches me and makes me want to reach out to someone I care about.
  • 2.) If you were a Make-a-Wish child, what would you wish for (and why)?

  • I would wish for an opportunity to attend school without having to work full-time. Working full-time and going to school full-time is difficult and exhausting and stressful. Less stress would be a good thing.
  • 3.) If you had the chance to learn when you were going to die, would you take it? Would you tell anyone if you knew (either your date of death or theirs)?

  • I wouldn’t want to know. I think I’d obsess about it if I knew. I already know I’m going to die someday. The rest is better as a surprise. :-) I wouldn’t tell anyone else, either, unless I was a doctor and it was my job to do that.
  • 4.) If you couldn’t die until you helped someone, would you rather live forever selfishly or die earlier?

  • Ouch. This is harsh. I’d rather help someone. Easy.
  • 5.) If there’s any goal you haven’t accomplished yet, what is it and what is stopping you?

  • Hey! I’m working on it! Don’t rush me! ;-) It’s getting my degree. That’s been a goal for ever and a day. Life stopped me. Now I’m doing it and will have my degree in May.
  • Today is Jonathan’s 40th birthday. I wish I was there. He’s having a birthday party and I wish I was there to laugh and have fun and spoil him.

I sent him gifts but it’s just not the same. I wish I had been there to see him open them. I wish I had been there to see his face.

Happy birthday, Jonathan. I hope it was everything you wished for and more.

    1. Would you rather live in a world with or without technology such as computers, cars, airplanes, bombs?
    2. I would prefer to live with them. I know there are positives and negatives for it all but it comes down to the personal for me: I can keep in touch with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends, and lovers who live great distances from me. I can visit, e-mail, call, etc. This technology gives me a less parochial view of the world and a great understanding of those who may live in a different type of environment than I do.

    3. If you had to live without either heating in your house or air conditioning, which one would you keep?
    4. Considering where I live, I have to have heating. I don’t have air conditioning and I don’t really miss it. We get nice breezes in the summer and my ceiling fan keeps it cool enough. If my bones get cold, I can’t get warm. If I get hot, I take a cool shower. Easy choice for me.

    5. If you had to own five dogs, what kind would you get?
    6. I have a beagle and I’d take another in a heartbeat. I love German Sheperds, foxhounds, greyhounds, malamutes, and labs.

    7. If the world had a front porch, what would you do on it?
    8. Oh, if only! Sit, drinking lemonade, waving to the neighbors, taking pictures of the life around me, and relaxing and enjoying life.

    9. Would you rather live in a neighborhood where you know all of your neighbors by name, or where everyone sticks to their own business?
    10. I do know most of my neighbors by name…and we all stick to our own business, too. I know they are there if I need them but know that they won’t intrude if it’s not imperative. It’s a nice, happy medium.
